Colorado Springs boasts one of the country's most active and dynamic 100% volunteer Parkinson's support groups. Founded in the early 1980's, the Jeanne Taylor Parkinson's Support Group has grown to approximately 250 Parkinsonians plus their caregivers and families. Membership also includes health-care professionals and pharmaceutical company representatives engaged in mutual caring and support.
The group meets on the second Saturday of every month, except July (Picnic) at the 1st Presbyterian Church Weber Street Center, 105 N. Weber Street on the northeast corner of Weber Street and Kiowa Street in Colorado Springs. Meetings start at 10:00 a.m. and end approximately 12:00 to 12:30 p.m. with a delicious potluck lunch, lively conversation, and warm fellowship. July and August meetings are replaced with picnics at a local park where visitors, friends, and family are always welcome.
